# Remove Tool Sprawl - Your Agentic Engineering Needs a Proper Context Layer

## Summary

Tool sprawl is undermining AI-assisted development: developers are overwhelmed by disconnected tools, and AI agents are only as effective as the context they receive. The proposed solution is a dynamic, live 'agentic context layer' that continuously updates and feeds relevant engineering context to AI agents, replacing fragmented tool chaos with unified, real-time context management.

## Content

Even Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex can’t help you if your engineering context is buried across dozens of disconnected tools - It's a tool sprawl.

Think about it - developers today spend more time managing tools than building software. With AI Agents and workflows, there is excitement and they are connected to too many tools/platforms - And this has created a tools chaos. And on top of that they use AI tools and agents - it creates agentic chaos, a 1000x bigger problem. CONTEXT is the only solution here.

Your agentic systems or AI agents are only as good as the context you feed them with. It is now, not about what coding assistants/agents your developers are using but how well connected the context is? Do they have an agentic context layer that is live, dynamic and updates itself as and when something changes in your engineering ecosystem inside the organization?

Yes, that is where you need a context layer that can feed your engineering agents the context they need to perform efficiently.

I create a lot of agentic engineering content on my Youtube channel - [https://www.youtube.com/@pavanbelagatti](https://www.youtube.com/@pavanbelagatti)
