NBCUniversal is reportedly considering entering the video game industry following its planned spinoff from Comcast into an independent publicly-traded company. Newly-appointed CEO Michael Cavanagh signaled interest in exploring adjacent businesses post-separation. Comcast has prior gaming-adjacent experience through its Nintendo and Illumination partnership on the Super Mario Bros. film franchise.
