Storonsky holds roughly 29% of the company, valued at $115bn, making his stake worth about $33bn on paper. The proposed changes would also remove limits on what proportion of his holding can be pledged, widen eligible share classes, and drop the board-approval requirement for larger pledges. Revolut says the update simply modernizes an outdated threshold and does not reflect any actual or intended borrowing. The company posted £1.7bn in pre-tax profit on £4.5bn revenue in 2025 and is targeting a US IPO around 2028 at a $200bn valuation.
