Mind Robotics, a spinoff from electric vehicle maker Rivian, has raised an additional $400 million in a round led by Kleiner Perkins, with participation from Volkswagen and Salesforce venture arms. This comes just two months after a $500 million raise, bringing total funding to over $1 billion and valuing the company at more than $3 billion. Founded by Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe under the codename 'Project Synapse,' Mind Robotics aims to develop industrial robots with human-like skills to automate factory operations.
