rsync 3.4.4 has been released by Andrew Tridgell, addressing regressions introduced in the 3.4.3 release. A forthcoming 3.5.0 release is also announced, which will include many more security updates. To reduce regression risk, a new rsync-security mailing list has been created to expand the tester pool before the 3.5.0 release. The expanded test suite in 3.5 is expected to improve stability for future security updates.
