# Runtime malware detection for AWS Fargate

**[Sysdig Blog](https://daily.dev/sources/sysdig-blog)** · 6 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

Sysdig has extended its runtime malware detection capabilities to AWS Fargate, addressing a key visibility gap for SOC and CSIRT teams as organizations adopt serverless container architectures. Unlike traditional container environments where host-level agents can be deployed, AWS Fargate's managed model limits infrastructure-level access. Sysdig's solution detects malicious binaries written to container filesystems and suspicious process execution at runtime, using hash-based detection (including EICAR test file validation). The capability integrates with existing investigation workflows and provides consistent coverage across Kubernetes clusters, self-managed containers, and Fargate workloads, helping organizations modernize without sacrificing compliance or security visibility.
