Russia has restored access to Roblox after banning the platform in December over claims of inappropriate content, including 'LGBT propaganda' and extremist materials. The reversal followed an unusual protest campaign in which 63,000 children aged 8–16 sent complaint letters, with half expressing a desire to leave Russia. Roblox agreed to implement age-based account tiers — Roblox Kids (5–8) and Roblox Select (9–15) — with restricted chat and content controls. The exact scope of content concessions made to Russian authorities has not been publicly disclosed. Roblox shares rose up to 5.37% on news of the impending unban, as Russia's 18 million monthly users represent a significant portion of its global base.
