<p>Rust 1.95.0 is now stable. Here’s what’s new.</p>
<h2>cfg_select! macro</h2>
<p>The release adds <code>cfg_select!</code> as a built-in macro for compile-time conditional configuration. It works similarly to the popular <code>cfg-if</code> crate, letting you select code paths based on configuration flags without pulling in an external dependency.</p>
<h2>if-let guards in match expressions</h2>
<p>You can now use if-let guards inside <code>match</code> arms, which allows pattern-based conditionals directly in match expressions. This has been a long-requested feature and cleans up a fair amount of code that previously needed workarounds.</p>
<h2>Newly stabilized APIs</h2>
<p>Several APIs are now stable in 1.95:</p>
<ul>
<li>Atomic update methods</li>
<li><code>MaybeUninit</code> array conversions</li>
<li>Mutation helpers for <code>Vec</code>, <code>VecDeque</code>, and <code>LinkedList</code></li>
<li><code>core::hint::cold_path</code></li>
<li>New <code>Layout</code> methods</li>
</ul>
<h2>Removals and other changes</h2>
<p>Support for custom JSON target specs on stable has been removed. According to the release notes, this only affects nightly users who were relying on that behavior, so stable users shouldn’t notice anything.</p>
<p>Cargo and Clippy also received updates in this release.</p>
<p>The Linux kernel has already been updated to support Rust 1.95, which has been in preparation for a while.</p>
