Tweede Golf presented openleadr-rs at the LF Energy Summit 2025 in Aachen. The project is an open-source Rust implementation of the OpenADR 3.0 standard for automated demand response, enabling electricity demand to adapt to supply. Currently, three Dutch Distribution System Operators and eight Charge Point Operators use it for Grid Aware Charging. Upcoming plans include broadening scope to Home Energy Management Systems, implementing OpenADR 3.1 with a WebSocket-based subscriptions feature, and a more technical presentation at the OpenADR Conference in March 2026.
