Sayid 0.8 is out! It’s the third release since I brought Sayid back from the dead a couple of weeks ago, and it has a clear theme: making the tool easy to pick up. The revival releases were mostly about the engine - bounding the recording, consolidating the API, getting the data out. This one is about the experience. If you’ve ever bounced off Sayid because you couldn’t figure out what to press, or what it was trying to tell you, 0.8 is for you.

Sayid 0.8 is released, focusing on usability improvements for this Clojure tracing/debugging tool. Key additions include a transient menu entry point via C-c s, a new sayid-trace-fn command that removes the need to understand inner vs outer tracing upfront, improved empty-state messaging that guides new users, better command feedback, and a unified workspace tree view with CIDER inspector integration. Earlier releases (0.6 and 0.7) rebuilt inner tracing on tools.analyzer.jvm and added trace-data/tap-trace! for data exploration and golden-file testing. The package now requires CIDER 2.0 and is available on Clojars and MELPA.
