The attack disrupted internal systems, exposed customer data, and cost TfL £29 million in losses and recovery. Officials estimated the UK economy could have lost up to £56 billion had the attackers succeeded in shutting down the transport network. Flowers was also found to be hacking US healthcare companies at the time of his arrest. Jubair faces additional US charges related to at least 120 network breaches and over $115 million extorted from victims.
