The framework centers on three steps: discovering where sensitive data lives using full-site content scanning across Jira and Confluence, classifying it with consistent labels (Public, Internal, Confidential, Restricted), and enforcing policies that automatically control access and sharing. Atlassian Guard Premium provides these capabilities natively within the platform, including AI-specific controls like Rovo Chat security filters that block sensitive data from appearing in AI prompts or responses, and Connector data security that prevents third-party data from being ingested into the Teamwork Graph. These AI controls are currently in early access.
