# Seeking for Advice regarding OpenSource Contributions

## Content

I am a self-taught developer. I started learning to code a few months ago. So far, I have firm understanding of the core concepts of JAVA and DSA. Also, I have built frontend projects using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React. Currently, I am learning the backend technologies. Along the way, I heard about the Open Source Community, so I researched it and found it pretty interesting. So, now I also want to contribute to these open-source projects. How should I get started, and can you suggest some of the projects that align with tech-stack and have some beginner-friendly issues that I can solve? I know how to use git and github.

I will be really grateful for your advice and hope to connect with you.

> You're doing it backwards. Don't go looking for open source projects to contribute to. Use open source projects and then contribute to the ones you use where you can see real scope for improvement or make your own.

> With all due respect, most open source projects don't have the time to be helping new devs get off the ground and mentor them until they're productive.
