Temporal has announced Serverless Workers support for Google Cloud Run, eliminating the need for manual infrastructure provisioning and autoscaling configuration. Built on Google Cloud Run Worker Pools (designed for long-running background tasks), Temporal's integration provides a custom autoscaling algorithm that watches server-side queue metrics and dynamically adjusts worker capacity — including scaling to zero when idle. Developers write worker code and activities the same way as before, deploying via Docker containers and configuring Worker Pools, then handing off all scaling control to Temporal. The feature is currently available as a pre-release product.
