Teams can set a default budget applied to every user without a custom limit, or a custom budget for individual members, with resets configurable as monthly, daily, weekly, or never. Usage alerts can notify at 50%, 75%, and 100% of allocation. Requests must stay within every applicable budget, and reaching any limit blocks new requests. Configuration is available via the Budgets page UI or Vercel CLI 59.6.2+, using commands like vercel ai-gateway budgets defaults set user and vercel ai-gateway budgets set user. API keys are attributed to their creator by default, but keys created before this feature was released are attributed to the team for backwards compatibility, so existing keys should be rotated to fall under the new user scope.
