Vercel now lets you set custom avatars for individual projects directly from the dashboard or via the REST API. Previously, Vercel automatically used the project's favicon from its production deployment as the avatar. The new feature is especially useful for microfrontend projects sharing a single favicon and backend projects with no favicon, allowing each to have a distinct visual identity across the dashboard and GitHub bot comments.
