Thoughtbot released `@thoughtbot/react-native-social-auth`, a modern Google Sign-In library for React Native. It uses Android's Credential Manager (replacing the deprecated GoogleSignInClient API) and the current GoogleSignIn-iOS SDK. The library ships with a Google-branding-compliant button component, a first-party Expo config plugin, and a TypeScript-first API. It addresses the gap left by existing React Native libraries that still target deprecated Android APIs or older iOS SDK versions, and brings newer capabilities like Credential Manager's bottom-sheet UI, automatic sign-in, and structured error handling.
