# Simulating Pots With LTSpice

**[Hackaday](https://daily.dev/sources/hackaday)** · 2 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

LTSpice lacks a built-in potentiometer component, but you can simulate one using two resistors representing the wiper segments. By setting one resistor as a parameter and calculating the other to maintain the total resistance, you can use the .step command to sweep through different pot positions. This technique allows for automated testing of circuits with variable resistance without manually adjusting values.
