Percona is skipping Percona Server for MySQL versions 8.4.9 and 9.7.0, folding their contents plus two high-severity CVE fixes from Oracle's June 2026 Critical Security Patch Update (CSPU) into the next releases: 8.4.10 and 9.7.1. The skip was triggered by Oracle's new monthly CSPU program, which delivers targeted security fixes between quarterly patch cycles. Rather than ship the already-packaged builds and immediately follow with a security patch, Percona applied the fixes, re-tested, and re-tagged. Users upgrading normally will land directly on 8.4.10 or 9.7.1, which include everything the skipped versions would have contained. The new releases are expected within days.
