Snapchat is introducing new content restrictions for users aged 13–15, limiting their Spotlight posts to mutual followers only and hiding engagement metrics like favorite counts. Users under 16 will get a separate profile for Stories and Spotlight visible only to friends they follow back. Teens aged 16–18 can still share publicly but with limited reach. Parents can also monitor time spent on Stories and Spotlight via the Family Center. The move follows a lawsuit settlement over social media addiction and mirrors similar restrictions introduced by Instagram.
