Snyk has announced an integration of Snyk Studio directly into Snowflake Cortex Code, embedding security scanning into the AI-native development workflow. Using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the integration enables real-time analysis of AI-generated Python and SQL code, automatic detection of vulnerable dependencies and container images in Snowpark Container Services, and in-workflow remediation suggestions before code is committed. The goal is to shift security left into the AI coding loop, addressing the security vacuum created when developers move from whitelisted Streamlit in Snowflake apps to more flexible containerized services that can pull in arbitrary third-party packages.
