Igalia's Maíra Canal submitted a patch to emit deprecation warnings at probe time, with full removal scheduled for the next kernel release. The rationale is that Mesa dropped userspace support for these GPU generations in 2024 due to lack of testing, the hardware is unavailable for purchase, maintainers don't own it, and no known users remain.
