A hobbyist project turns the cheap ESP32 CYD (Cheap Yellow Display) touchscreen into an animated ASCII aquarium. The display shows swimming fish, bubbles, seaweed, and occasional octopus and seahorse visitors. Fish behavior is simulated in real time by the ESP32, including schooling, avoidance, and racing for food when the screen is tapped. The open-source project on GitHub includes a full installation guide and is described as beginner-friendly.
