Frustrated with the official Sonos app, community members have used AI tools like Claude to vibe-code their own local-first Sonos controller apps. Three standout alternatives are reviewed: Kyuu, an iOS beta controller focused purely on playback; Choragus, a native macOS Swift/SwiftUI app with multi-service integration, EQ controls, and karaoke mode; and Sonoshaus, a retro-styled web/Mac interface built on top of node-sonos-http-api. None fully replaces the official app's feature set, but all offer lag-free, ad-free local network control without a Sonos account.
