SortMySkills is a card-sorting web game designed to help users discover their career passions by rating 50 general skills on a 5-point scale from 'Love using' to 'Hate using'. A key constraint limits users to only five skills in the top category, forcing genuine prioritization. The tool was built by the author and a colleague at IBM after observing career dissatisfaction among peers. The author shares a personal story of using a similar exercise to identify poor skill alignment in a government role and ultimately switching to a data-focused career. The API has since been discontinued.
