Paris-based startup Mistral AI is raising money at a $6 billion valuation to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic. Investors include DST, General Catalyst, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. SoftBank is not currently involved. Mistral AI is focused on open-source Large Language Models and has seen a significant increase in valuation. The market for AI startups is highly competitive.
