Starlink's share of Falcon 9 missions has grown from 54% in 2020 to ~79% in 2025, with at least seven spacecraft companies told the rocket is fully booked until 2028–2029. Since Starlink generates $11.4bn annually (60% of SpaceX revenue) versus $4.1bn from launch services, SpaceX has a clear financial incentive to prioritize its own payloads. This creates a structural conflict: SpaceX is both the dominant launch provider and a direct competitor to many satellite firms. The bottleneck may ease only when Starship becomes operational.
