Sparrow Quantum, a Danish photonic quantum computing company, has been selected as one of 13 companies funded under the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking's Quantum Grand Challenge, an EU program aimed at accelerating commercially viable quantum computing platforms. The company's EU-SCALE project will receive €300,000 to develop a technical and financial roadmap for integrating its deterministic photon-generating chips into a larger photonic quantum computing system compatible with European HPC infrastructure. The EuroHPC Governing Board approved the funding list on 19 June 2026, selecting 13 of 27 eligible proposals out of 30 received, with the grant agreement still being finalized.
