Spotify has announced an ElevenLabs-powered AI audiobook creation tool within its Spotify for Authors platform, launching in beta in June on an invite-only basis with English support only. Authors retain publishing freedom with no exclusive contracts. The platform is also expanding to 10 more languages and adding natural language audiobook discovery. Spotify reports over 1 million Audiobook+ subscriptions and is on track for $100 million in annualized recurring revenue, with listening hours up 60% year-on-year.
