Spotify has launched Reserved by Spotify, a feature that holds concert tickets for Premium subscribers based on their streaming habits and listening data. Running on a multi-year exclusive deal with Live Nation (with Ticketmaster processing transactions), the feature aims to combat bot-driven ticket fraud by rewarding genuine superfans with early access to dedicated ticket inventory. Spotify outbid Apple and Amazon for the exclusivity and collects no fees on sales, betting that concert access will reduce subscriber churn. The feature is US-only at launch, starting with indie-pop artist Role Model.
