A December 2015 progress update on Sway, an i3-compatible Wayland compositor. Four months after the initial commit, the project has grown to 1,070 commits from 29 contributors, covering 10,682 lines of C. Key features added include floating windows, multihead support, IPC, wallpaper support, swaybar/swaylock/swaymsg tools, and 58 i3 commands. 51 of 73 tracked i3 features are now supported. The author is using it as a daily driver and is looking toward a beta release once stacking/tabbed layouts and window borders are complete.
