Daniel Stenberg has announced that curl will pause acceptance of vulnerability reports from July 1 through August 3, 2026, unless the submitter holds a paid support contract. Dubbed the 'curl summer of bliss,' the move is a response to sustained pressure on the project's maintainers over the past four months. GitHub issue and pull-request trackers will remain open, and the curl 8.22.0 release has been pushed back two weeks to September 2, 2026. Stenberg encourages other open source projects to adopt similar breaks to prioritize maintainer well-being.
