STMicroelectronics has launched the ST54M, a single-die secure mobile chip that integrates NFC, a secure element, eSIM, and a dedicated hardware accelerator for post-quantum cryptography (PQC). The chip supports ML-KEM and ML-DSA algorithms and is designed to help smartphone and connected-device OEMs prepare for quantum-resistant security mandates expected around 2030. Use cases include contactless payments, digital identity, transit ticketing, and digital car keys. The chip has completed Common Criteria 2022 EUCC and EMVCo certification testing. Sampling is available now, with production targeted for July 2026.
