Together they deliver 3–5x lower latency and 10x greater concurrency compared to standard Snowflake setups. Key optimizations include improved column metadata handling (up to 4.4x speedup when selecting fewer columns), optimized micro-partition shapes for better row pruning, and query plan caching that reduces compilation time from ~300ms to ~5ms. Interactive Warehouses are priced 40% lower than Gen 1 warehouses. Setup takes about 5 minutes using new SQL syntax for creating interactive tables and warehouses.
