The facility will have a 40,000-ton annual capacity and use GR3N's proprietary MADE (Microwave Assisted DEpolymerisation) technology, which can process all types of PET waste — including the 85% that mechanical recycling cannot handle, such as textile fibres, films, and coloured resins. The process produces food-grade monomers and cuts CO2 emissions by up to 80% versus virgin PET production. The plant has also secured a €35M EU Innovation Fund grant.
