.NET MAUI team member Gerald presents the current state of .NET MAUI in .NET 10 and previews .NET 11. Key highlights include XAML source generation (1000%+ faster debug builds, 99% less debug memory), new unified safe area edge APIs for iOS/Android notches and dynamic islands, Android Material 3 opt-in support, and the transition from Mono to CoreCLR as the default runtime in .NET 11. The team has gone from 7% to 62% Copilot-authored merged PRs in under a year, using AI end-to-end for bug reproduction, test selection, code review, and documentation. New AI-focused features include Maui.Essentials.AI for on-device AI (Apple Intelligence, Gemini Nano, Windows Copilot Runtime), AI Extensions for intent-based navigation, and DevFlow — an MCP-powered debug tool that lets Copilot autonomously interact with and test running MAUI apps. Experimental backends for Linux, native macOS AppKit, and WPF are also in progress via Maui Labs. Partnerships with Syncfusion, Uno, and Avalonia are expanding the ecosystem.
