Telkom Group CEO Serame Taukobong believes the company has four to five more years of data-driven growth ahead, driven by three engines: wholesale demand via Openserve, carrier-side mobile data consumption, and AI-driven traffic. Unlike MTN and Vodacom, which focus primarily on mobile data and fintech, Telkom positions itself across fixed, mobile, wholesale, and AI transport layers. For the year ended March 2026, Telkom's data revenue rose 7.6% to R26.6-billion, representing nearly 60% of group revenue, with mobile data subscribers up 31.1% to 20 million and Openserve posting its first revenue growth in nine years.
