Thand.io is an open-source distributed just-in-time privileged access management (PAM) system built on top of Temporal. The founders explain how traditional PAM systems are failure-prone due to complex provisioning and deprovisioning workflows, and how Temporal's workflow orchestration, high availability, and execution guarantees make it an ideal foundation. Thand uses a DSL-based approach (built on the CNCF Serverless Workflow spec) instead of SDKs, enabling security engineers to define complex access workflows without writing full applications. LLMs are also noted as effective tools for composing these DSL-based workflows.
