Dropped into the ground alongside seeds using standard equipment, it bursts open under natural temperature, pressure, and moisture exposure, creating channels for air, water, and roots. The company claims it can cut tilling costs by more than half, from roughly £250-£400 per hectare to about £100, and is targeting UK onion growers first with paid field trials this fall involving nine farmers and a 30-plus waitlist.
