Cloudflare introduces the Agent Development Lifecycle (ADLC), a framework for replacing the traditional SDLC with agent-driven software factories. The post argues that AI has made code implementation fast and cheap, but the rest of the SDLC — testing, deploying, maintaining — still relies heavily on humans. Cloudflare proposes using Workflows as the orchestration layer for autonomous agents to own the full software lifecycle. New tools announced include @cloudflare/ci for CI/CD pipelines built on Cloudflare Workflows, OpenTelemetry tracing in local dev, Cloudflare Agents observability dashboard, and case studies on engineering standards enforcement and automated GitHub issue triage. The ADLC requires platforms to be programmatic, horizontally scalable, reproducible, real-time, atomic, permissioned, and self-improving.
