The argument is that the cloud native stack — Kubernetes, GitOps, observability, platform engineering, DevSecOps — is already the AI native stack, not by design but by coincidence of shared problems. Teams that recognize AI operations as distributed-systems operations move faster than those treating it as unprecedented. Platform engineering becomes more important, not less, as it extends the internal developer platform to cover model serving, agent registration, guardrails, and evaluation.
