# The Economics of Reuse

**[Medium](https://daily.dev/sources/medium_js)** · 3 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

The economics of AI are shifting from scaling up model size to maximizing reuse of existing intelligence. Techniques like caching, memory, mixture-of-experts, recursive reasoning, and long-context architectures all share a common goal: reducing redundant computation. Systems that reuse successful reasoning pathways become more coherent, cheaper to run, and more reliable. The next scaling law may not be about larger models but about extracting more intelligence per unit of computation — and competitive advantage will belong to systems that never solve the same problem twice.
