Invisible, a B2B productivity startup, migrated from Sequelize to Prisma as part of a full tech stack refactor. The migration was done gradually alongside the existing Sequelize client, using Prisma introspect to build a new schema from their existing database. A new serverless GraphQL API on Vercel with Postgres was created in parallel, allowing high-volume requests to be shifted off Heroku dynos without any downtime for hundreds of agents and customers. The team ultimately replaced GraphQL/Apollo with tRPC, leveraging Prisma's auto-generated types for full end-to-end type safety across their TypeScript stack. The gradual approach enabled continuous feature development while incrementally deprecating the old Heroku monolith.
