But somewhere along the way, we confused vibes with guesswork.
AI tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, Claude, and v0 are everywhere now. According to recent developer surveys, over 70% of developers use AI-assisted coding tools weekly, and nearly 30–40% rely on them daily. Yet… productivity gains are wildly inconsistent.

Others feel like they’re fighting the tool.
The difference isn’t the model.

For many, vibe coding looks like this:

And then hoping the LLM magically figures out:

LLMs don’t understand vibes.

Contextual vibe coding is the ability to shape the model’s mental workspace before asking it to write code.
You’re not asking:

You’re saying:

“Here’s how I think. Here’s what exists. Here’s what matters.”
</blockquote>
Think of LLMs less like senior engineers and more like extremely fast interns with perfect recall but zero situational awareness.
They don’t know:

<li>what you tried already</li>
<li>what not to touch</li>
<li>what tradeoffs you care about</li>
</ul>
Unless you tell them.

Around 60% of AI-generated code requires edits because prompts lack system-level context, clear goals, constraints, and feedback loops.

This is the most ai slop article Ive ever seen lol.

I almost felt like I was on chatGPT.
There is no harm in generating content with AI as long as it resonates with end users.
I created a small agent to generate self KB posts (not maintained) with similar pointers :

<li>Use GPT Generate the core idea, summary. Provide personal observations and opinions</li>
<li>Build around it and generate a post structure (mainly points on intro, main content, problem, solution, conclusion)</li>
<li>Use GPT again to create end goals and user persona (e.g. i want this post to be concise, to the point, and real common examples).</li>
<li>Use Perplexity to research on the points (and not the structure) and ask it to provide citations as well</li>
<li>Use HumanBrain to actually go through the researched contents (and Atleast skim through the citations). Retrospect the initial opinions.</li>
<li>Use GPT to take in the research and citations, structure, end goals to complete the post</li>
<li>Use HumanBrain to go through the generated post few times (multiple pass) and check manually for - relativity, goal drifting, how easily people can read through this and keep engaged</li>
<li>Use GPT again to tune the tonality of the post and review it</li>
</ol>
I know this sounds like a lot of work but thats where the quality lies. Benefit of this approach is the author has more knowledge now on the topic without actually going full length searching and reading on the actual papers. Con is, well, its bit more time consuming than just a single pass gpt prompt “generate a no bullshit post on vibe coding with context without dialogues”.
Last advise would be to be open to criticism. Helps you grow much faster than you would expect.

if we just have to give context to a token prediction model why not give that to a human who can give a better output than a LLM? I mean, if you can just come up with the required context to solve a problem why not solve it on your own rather then giving it to someone else? At this point you just did what every programmer has to do, make tradeoff based on requirements, that’s something we learn with experience and all programmers need to learn, making tradeoffs. And for cherry on top, managers never give context, they give ambiguity, you are suppose to surf through the ambiguous request on your own and figure out the actual context. Its juts a waste of time, learning to make tradeoff is a better idea then using AI. Not saying AI can’t be used, of course you can use it for writing code but if you have to provide it all the context then why not just solve the problem on your own? It can’t even make tradeoffs without proper direct context, but humans can.
