## Summary

A Katalyst Space robotic spacecraft called LINK, launched July 3 on a Northrop Grumman Pegasus rocket, has lost control and begun tumbling after two of its three reaction wheels failed and a thruster system developed problems. The mission was intended to rendezvous with NASA's Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory and boost it to a higher orbit, extending its operational life — the first time NASA has contracted a private company for such a task. Flight controllers are attempting recovery using backup thrusters and report early signs of progress. Katalyst raised $12 million in June to support the mission, which was built on an accelerated timeline due to the urgency of raising Swift's orbit within the coming months.
