The Rockstar Game Workers Union breaks cover

Developers at Rockstar Games have publicly announced the Rockstar Game Workers Union (RGWU), a subsidiary of the Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain. The union's formation follows the firing of over 30 workers accused of unionizing, which Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive attributed to gross misconduct over confidential information leaks. The IWGB called it the most blatant act of union-busting in games industry history and filed legal action in November. A preliminary UK employment tribunal denied interim pay relief to the fired workers, though the IWGB noted this doesn't prejudge the main case. RGWU is now fundraising for legal fees, seeking justice for the 31 dismissed workers, and campaigning for pay transparency, flexible working, and an end to crunch culture. The announcement comes as Take-Two anticipates $8 billion in revenue from the upcoming GTA VI launch.
