Northrop Grumman's Mission Robotic Vehicle (MRV), equipped with two flexible robotic arms, launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and is heading to geosynchronous orbit on a planned decade-long satellite servicing mission. Three Mission Extension Pods (MEPs) launched alongside it. The MRV is considered the most advanced robotic servicing satellite publicly known, surpassing China's earlier efforts including the SJ-21 debris mitigation spacecraft and the SJ-25 refueling demonstration completed in 2025. The satellites will spend about a year maneuvering to their final circular orbit over 22,000 miles above Earth before beginning operations.
