CachyOS has switched its default graphical package manager from Octopi to Shelly, a new Rust-based GUI tool. Shelly supports package management from CachyOS repositories, AUR, Flathub, and AppImage all in one interface. It features a modern, clean UI with a home dashboard showing installed package counts and update status, unified search across all sources, and settings for parallel downloads and package purification. Compared to Pamac and Octopi, Shelly offers a more modern look and broader source support, though AppImage integration is still somewhat inconsistent.
