## Summary

Enterprises unknowingly operate two parallel AI and software supply chains: a mature, governed DevOps pipeline and an ungoverned 'shadow' AI supply chain where developers pull models directly from public hubs and run unvetted MCP servers. The solution is consolidation—treating AI assets (models, MCP servers) exactly like traditional software artifacts by routing them through the same centralized registry, proxying public hubs, enforcing security scans, and maintaining full version traceability. This merges both tracks into a single source of truth, enabling governance without sacrificing developer velocity. This is the first of a five-part series on trusted AI adoption pillars.
