Bits Code is Datadog's AI agent that converts production findings into reviewable pull requests. When Datadog detects errors, performance regressions, profiling hotspots, flaky tests, vulnerabilities, slow queries, or Kubernetes issues, Bits Code investigates using existing telemetry (logs, traces, metrics, RUM sessions, runtime variables), drafts a targeted code fix with unit tests, iterates through CI failures, and opens a GitHub PR — all within minutes. Unlike generic coding assistants that only reason over source code, Bits Code grounds its changes in production context. It supports on-demand prompting, scheduled runs, and telemetry-triggered automation for recurring cleanup tasks. Enterprise controls include role-based access, zero data retention with third-party AI providers, and rate limits. Bits Code is generally available to all Datadog customers with GitHub Cloud support and GitLab in beta.
